TripRank on CarPlay is deliberately a gauge, not an app: live speed and G-force on the car’s display, typeset large, glanceable like factory instrumentation. Setup happens parked — start the trip, dock the phone — and from that point there is nothing to touch until the car stops.
The display is a window, not the engine: recording, event detection, and sprint extraction all run regardless of what the screen shows. That split is what CarPlay guidelines ask for and what eyes-on-road driving requires, and it is why the CarPlay view will never grow buttons that want attention at speed.
